Å in Lofoten - an active fishing village all year
There are two museums in the small and beautiful fishing village Å; Lofoten Stockfish Museum and the Norwegian Fishing Village
Museum http://www.datadesign.ws/nfmuseum/default.htm. The area it is allowed to fish from the shore and from the sea and lakes
free of charge. If you prefer it is possible to rent a boat. Å Hostel has 8 different boats available for rent. Å is a great
place to go hiking, you can either walk along the beautiful seaside or go up in the mountain area. From the top it is possible
to can see peaks, rivers, lakes and sea - If the weather is nice you may see all over the Vestfjorden to the mainland.
There are many great activities in Å and local guides are available. Just ask the staff at the hostel and they will help you
further.
