Nordfjord Hostel Sandane is located in the middle of Nordfjord, a traditional district in the county of Sogn og Fjodane in Western Norway. Travelers staying at this hostel can take the trip of a lifetime along the fjord (also called Nordfjord) to enjoy the contrasting Norwegian landscapes of glaciers and fertile valleys. Hostel Sandane is a great place to stay with welcoming staff and a prime location. A message from your Hostel hostess: I’m Marianne, your hostess. I have spent the last 10 years of my life working away from where I grew up, and now I’ve finally returned HOME. My wish is to welcome you, and to show you this beautiful part of Norway. Our hostel opened on the 26th of May 2008. Here you’re surrounded by wild mountains, an active agricultural area, historical museums, old churches, fruit trees and valleys with small and beautiful lakes. From Sandane you’re a daytrip or less away from many of the most famous sceneries in this area; West cape, the ferry between Hellesylt - Geiranger, Selje Monastery, Nordfjord Folk Museum, the Norwegian Glacier Museum and the largest glacier on the European Continent, Jostedalsbreen. There are many activities for tourists here, you could even try fishing and catch your own dinner! Our philosophy is to provide a meeting point for travellers, a place to stay where you can share your experiences with others, relax, enjoy, and maybe learn a few things that will stay with you for years to come. I love travelling, and on my travels I “collect” countries. This hostel has also started “collecting” countries. And my hope is that you would like to come and visit us, and that you’ll feel at home here. |
