The famous Rallarvegen, which was built to transport materials along the railway: Bergen Line, starts from the front door of the hostel. The picturesque mountain path forms a gateway to the spectacular Hardangervidda. The mountain plateau is separating the eastern and western part of Norway with an average snow depth of 1,5 meters for about 3 months a year. And during these months you have the opportunity to put your ski’s on and experiences some of the most spectacular scenery in Norway. Mjølfjell Vandrerhjem has its own ski-tow for downhill skiing and snowboard enthusiasts. The natural light terrain in the area is ideal for cross country skiing - for new beginners and intermediate skiers alike. Groups can be accompanied by qualified instructors. There are courses offered for children to learn skiing techniques, winter know-how and survival training. Including how to make a snow shelter, which is very fun and exiting! After a fun and refreshing day of skiing, it’s nice to relax at the hostel. At the hostel you can enjoy our open hearth fireplace, reminiscing on previous adventures. |

Mjøfjell – a mountain ski resort
Mjølfjell Vandrerhjem lies at the uppermost point of the Raundalen. The hostel is easily accessible by car and train. Mjølfjells railway station is called Ørneberget and it is situated just 150 meters from the hostel.
