| Byrkjedal Vandrerhjem aims at providing true experience to our guest though food, history and activities. History, tradition and culture Natural, beautiful buildings, the art of cooking, wine and comfort are bound together and gives a sensual impression. At Byrkjedal you can stay in the picturesque houses built in the same style as the houses in the area in the 1800s. The details within the houses, decor and colors create an evocative journey back in time, despite the fact that comfort is the state of the art. In majestic surroundings Byrkjedal Vandrerhjem is surrounded by Rogaland's finest scenery and it is an excellent base for fine outdoor experiences, for example; Lysefjord, Pulpit Rock, Kjerag, Månafossen, Gloppedalsura and the magnificent Jæren. The hostel is known for good, traditional Norwegian food and serves simple, good dishes to the finest meals. In 1999 our restaurant was selected as the year's winner of the roadside restaurants, and in 2008 the restaurant was the regional winner of the year's “Palate Speed”. Colors, decorations, lights and curtains to create an evocative journey back in time. Sleep in a house that is coved with grass on top of the roof and wake up to birds singing and the creak trickles. Byrkjedal Vandrerhjem has in total 25 rooms. No two rooms are alike and they all have their own distinctive character. All rooms are well equipped with tiled bathroom and duvets.
