| Borlaug Hostel is situated in Lærdalen and offers single beds, 2 and 3 bedded rooms and family rooms with breakfast. Borlaug´s
most famous attraction is Borgund Stave Church (1150), one of the best preserved stave churches in Norway. There are also excellent opportunities for walking and hiking
in the area, e.g. on the old road Vindhellaveien (opened in 1793), many parts of which have a beautiful view. There are two nearby ski resorts; Filefjell 25 km and Hemsedal 45 km from the hostel. Lærdal River is one of the most famous salmon rivers in Norway and Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre is located on the banks of the river. Visitors to the centre are given an insight into the life history of the Atlantic salmon and the traditions of salmon fishing. A permit for fishing can be bought from the hostel. |
