The hostel is located 100 m from Hamar Olympic Skating Arena, "The Viking Ship". Hamar has been a major trading centre since the 12th century, and the ruins of the old cathedral can still be seen at "Domkirkeodden".
At Domkirkeodden you will also find a large collection of old buildings. Other sights: the Railway Museum, The Norwegian Emigrant museum. At Hamar you can also catch a ride with the oldest paddleboat still running: Skibladner.
